Barcelona, Spain – On the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress 2025, Ghana’s Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, led by Hon. Samuel Nartey George, engaged MTN Group CEO Ralph Mupita and Group SVP Eben Asante in high-level discussions aimed at enhancing service quality and customer experience in Ghana.
A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry and MTN Ghana to support the implementation of the One Million Coders Programme (OMCP) - a flagship digital initiative spearheaded by H.E. John Dramani Mahama. The OMCP is an ambitious plan to train one million Ghanaians in digital skills, fostering technological advancement and job creation through a government-private sector collaboration.
The official launch of the OMCP is set to take place in the coming days and will be officiated by President Mahama, fulfilling a key pledge under his 120-day social contract.
The engagement at the Mobile World Congress underscores Ghana’s commitment to digital transformation, strengthening its partnerships with global tech leaders to drive national development.
