Madam Millicent Kabuki Carboo, Biakoye District Chief Executive (DCE), has commissioned a six-unit classroom block for the Bowiri Kwamikrom R/C KG/Primary A&B School to facilitate effective education delivery in the District.
The DCE also commissioned and handed over a renovated Tapa-Akaa Yaw D/A Primary School for use.
Madam Carboo in her speeches noted that the Assembly with the support of government continued to invest in welfare of citizens in the district in many sectors including education.
She said there was the need for parents to take keen interest in the education of their wards to ensure a bright future for the learners.
Madam Carboo said the six-unit classroom block had a staff room, store and a headmaster's office which would enable a conducive atmosphere for teachers as well.
She said the Assembly would continue to provide the necessary supports that would improve lives of residents.
Madam Carboo said the Assembly would build a 1-store:20 cubicles for the Kwamikrom community to enhance the economic activities within the area.
Madam Roselyn Kafui Ofori, Biakoye District Education Director, noted that the supports received from the DCE had been tremendous and the Directorate remained grateful.
She said the community participation for sustainable schools for all required that parents and community members played effective roles in ensuring that their wards received adequate and quality education.
Madam Ofori said creating a safe environment for learners was important and urged parents not to relent on their roles in providing education for their wards.
She urged the teachers to carry out their duties diligently while calling on the learners to take their lessons seriously and not deface the classroom blocks by drawing or writing on them.
Mr Awumey George, Headmaster, Tapa-Akaa Yaw D/A Primary School, commended the Assembly for the continuous support given to the School.
He said the School would take good care of all properties to ensure that it catered for learners in the future.
Mr Awumey said it was the hope that plans would be advanced for classroom blocks to be built for the school to have other classes added to it.
Mr Daniel Kwasi Efiah, Headteacher, Kwamikrom R.C. KG/Primary A&B School, said the commissioning marked a significant mile stone in the history of the School since its establishment in 1954.
He said the school needed more classroom blocks for effective teaching and learning since it ran a double stream.
Mr Efiah appealed to the DCE to help the School get connected to electricity, provide marker boards as well as get an ICT laboratory to enhance the teaching and learning of ICT.
He commended the SMC/P.A.s for their support, both cash and kind towards the development of the school including the provision of furniture and potable drinking water for the School.
Madam Carboo who also paid a working visit to the Biakoye Model Girls Junior High School in Kwamikrom, urged the students to take their studies seriously and excel in their exams.
She noted that it was important for them to take advantage of the Free Senior High School by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration and become great citizens of the nation.
